About Siam 33

Siam 33 is the cucumber variety most Malaysian commercial kitchens work with. It is mild and faintly sweet with no bitterness, and the dark green skin is thin enough that peeling is optional — which saves real preparation time when you are doing volume.

The flesh is firm and holds its texture in raw preparations and light cooking without going soft. It slices cleanly for salads, pickles well, and juices without stringiness.

How we grow it

We grow Siam 33 on trellis at Sendayan Farm under an AB Mix fertigation programme. Nutrient goes in through the drip line, so the crop is fed when it is drawing water rather than on a calendar. In the Malaysian climate that gives steadier growth than a granular schedule.

Trellising keeps the fruit hanging straight and off the ground, which is why ours runs cylindrical rather than curved. We also manage actively against Anthracnose, the main disease pressure on cucumber here — catching it early is the difference between a clean pick and a load you cannot grade.

Grading

We supply Grade A and B. Fruit is graded on colour, straightness and skin condition. Kitchens portioning by piece want the even fruit; buyers slicing or pickling can take a wider range and should not pay for cosmetic grading they do not need.

Packing and ordering

Cucumbers are packed in 5kg or 10kg configurations, or bulk if that suits your operation better. Minimum order is 100kg.

We supply restaurants, caterers, grocers and fresh markets. Self-collection at Sendayan Farm gets you the freshest handover; we also deliver within the Seremban area.
